A humble initiative to support a community of weavers during the pandemic evolved into the thriving business venture known as Sowjanya Silks- the brainchild of Jayaprakash. With over 25 years of experience in the IT sector, Jayaprakash's passion for silks and textiles runs deep, stemming from cherished childhood memories of his hometown, where he was captivated by the sight of looms in action and the vibrant hues of dyed yarn.

Amidst the challenges of the pandemic, new opportunities emerged through e-commerce platforms and social media. Motivated by a longing to reconnect with his roots, Jayaprakash joined forces with his wife, Nalinasree, to establish Sowjanya Silks, bridging the gap between looms and homes.

Named after the timeless allure of sarees, 'Sowjanya' embodies qualities of charm, goodness, and kindness, all synonymous with the positive attributes of womanhood. It stands as a tribute to women and serves as a catalyst for empowering the weaving community. Today, Sowjanya Silks is on a path of expansion, offering a diverse range of fabrics ranging from pure silk and silk blended fabrics to cater to Wedding gowns and Luxurious Home Decor, Masks, Scrunches etc.
